Take a leaf out of Jane's book...

Posted on 18th Mar 2016 @ 2:50 PM

Jane's teaching schedule for 2016 has now been released, and this year, for the first time, she will be sharing one of her private passions: the art of hand-made book-binding.

Handmade Book Stack

Jane is offering two two-day courses in longstitch binding, a versatile technique you will be able to use to make your own unique notebooks, travel journals, photo albums, scrap books, ideas diaries, stitch or embroidery sample books, and needle books.  Each course starts with Jane teaching you to make a small notebook, to learn the basic techniques, and then progresses to two more challenging projects for you to develop your new skills.

Classes

In addition to the new bookbinding classes, Jane will be teaching a dozen different goldwork and stumpwork embroidery designs, including favourites inspired by her four most recent books Stumpwork Medieval Flora (Book 6), Stumpwork & Goldwork Embroidery, inspired by Turkish, Syrian and Persian Tiles (Book 7), Stumpwork Butterflies and Moths (Book 8), Shakespeare's Flowers in Stumpwork (Book 9).

If you are looking for something different, there are also four intricate goldwork designs, inspired by Japanese family crests:
