Embroidered on a satin background with silks, gold metallic threads, beads and tiny spangles, this design features the knapweed from the Persian Peony Tile, set within an elegant quatrefoil-shaped border. The roundel may be framed or mounted into the lid of a gilt bowl. It may also be used to decorate one side of a small mirror for an evening bag.
