A tulip from the Turkish Tulip Tile forms the central motif in this elegant miniature tile.  Using stumpwork, goldwork and surface embroidery techniques, the diamond-shaped panel is worked on an ivory silk background with silks, gold metallic threads, beads and tiny spangles.  The design features a red tulip with a detached petal, set in an ornate border worked in gold metallic threads and beads.

The tile may be framed or made into the lid of a box.

Kit Contents

This embroidery kit contains all materials required to work this project:

• Ivory silk dupion, quilter's muslin, tracing paper, red cotton fabric, felt, vliesofix, beads (includes two whole packs), 2 mm gold spangles and wire (33 gauge red)
• Threads – Soie d'Alger silks, gold metallic threads, assorted silk, polyester and nylon threads
