Combining goldwork and surface embroidery techniques, this panel is worked on an olive green silk background with silks, gold metallic threads, beads and tiny spangles. The design features a stylised peony flower, surrounded by a decorative border worked in silk and metal threads, and beads. The tile may be framed or made into the lid of a box.
